About

Hello and welcome to my site! My name is RJ and I created this blog from a desire to help other Christians who may be struggling in their relationship with God. I know what this is like; you’ve been told your not good enough, not doing enough, or your not radical enough. I went to Bible college for almost two years.

  • August 2017 – May 2019

I discovered what the majority of Christians may never come across unless you’ve been to Bible college or your self disciplined. I want to share what I’ve learned from my experience there. I don’t plan on stopping there though, as I continue to research and learn I’ll still be sharing as I build this blog. It’s hard for me to accept that people choose not to study the Biblical text for themselves but I understand why this may be.

  • I don’t understand where to start
  • No one ever taught me how
  • I’m not smart enough
  • That’s my pastors job
  • I study at my local church on Sunday

I understand where you are coming from but with the tool of the internet today, there is no excuse. The traditions started by man don’t help either, it’s hard to know what is true with many divisions among us but the good news is God gave us tools. I’m no scholar but I learn anyway.

I grew up in church and went forward as a child at VBS but I was doing it because my friends had done it. It wasn’t until I was 21 when my Dad lead me to the Lord did I understand the good news of Jesus. Its unfortunate though since the good news turns into work for what God accomplished the minute you attend a congregation. I told myself God was calling me into pastoral ministry but this I found out wasn’t for me. I bought into the lie that I must be more and do more for Jesus for him to accept me as I was and the Holy Spirit would only help change me if I did those things.

I did enjoy my time at Bible college and I would like to finish my degree through other means. I’m a nurse by profession but my heart as always been geared toward Biblical studies. I believe I was there for a purpose and learned a great deal, including resting in him and the work he did. Humanity may benefit from the work that Jesus did, but his work is about him. I hope you’ll join me on this journey. Ready! Study! Go!
